Hello friends! I am back with a 6×12 scrapbook layout called “Fabulous”! This little nugget of a photo is my official Glamour Shot!
If you aren’t familiar, Glamour Shots is a photo studio, typically found in malls, that offer makeovers and photo sessions. Glamour Shots is still in business today, although the makeovers and photos have come a long way!
This photo was taken in 1990 something, I was about 13-years-old. My best-friend and I begged our parents from Glamour Shots – eventually they caved. The whole event was wonderful! We got our makeup done, our hair was plastered with Aqua Net hairspray, and we got to play dress up in what seemed like a thousand jackets, scarves, and wraps. To complete the process, our pictures were taken by a professional photographer – we felt like movie stars!
After our photo session, we were taken into another room to preview our photos. I was so excited! But my excitement did not last long…I hated my photos! My mother was so upset, “What the hell is wrong with these photos Vicki? They look just fine! You are being dramatic!” my mother yelled.
Yes, yes I was. A 13-year-old drama queen!
Eventually, I grew to like and appreciate my Glamour Shots. In fact, I think I look rather adorable in this photo!
For this layout I used the exclusive October Felicity Jane kit and font stickers by Thickers. I wanted to keep this layout simple and clean – a style that I continue to gravitate too. I didn’t want anything to overpower the photo or the story so I kept the embellishing to the a minimum. I created two layered clusters using stickers and embossed wood veneer hearts. To finish the layout, used Nuvo Crystal Drops to create faux enamel dots, just to add a bit of interest.
Overall, I really like this layout!
