Stop Trying to Do All the Scrappy Things in 2019!

With the start of a new year comes the desire to do more, be more, get more stuff done and make ALL the goals happen! Scrapbookers are not exempt from this.

We have so many project options and a ton of scrappy things to do! From themed projects (think Project Life or December Daily), to photo organization, completing old projects, and cleaning our scrappy spaces, there is no shortage of stuff to do.

But…

BUT…

It is often the case the scrapbookers take on too much. Some of us make awesome creative plans! We start out strong…but quickly burn out. Does this sound familiar?

How about in 2019 we give ourselves a break.

(Say whaaaa Victoria!?)

Think about it.

What would happen if we only selected 2-3 projects to work on this year versus say, a gajillion? What would happen if we gave ourselves PERMISSION to LET GO of the projects that are not finished? What if we only focused on the projects that are truly meaningful to us RIGHT NOW and be okay with that? What if we decided that we are NOT going to do every single themed project – December Daily, Project Life, Day in the Life, memory planning, traveler’s notebooks? (By the way, I love ALL of these projects!)

Sidebar: I should start a podcast or something!

Well, guess what my friends? It’s okay to pull back, reassess, and figure out where your scrappy journey is going to take you this year. Give yourself permission to focus on the projects that fuel your creative soul and let the rest go. Scrapbooking should be fun, relaxing, and enjoyable – NOT stressful!

You don’t have to keep up with the Joneses. 🙂

So, what projects do you want to focus on this year? Give yourself time to think about this…then you go and be creative!

Victoria! PERFECT POST AGAIN! I am giving up a subscription that I signed up for mid-year last year on a whim and didn’t think it through. I have TOO MUCH STUFF!!! And that subscription took me away from what I love and enjoy. I liked it but I don’t LOVE it and it took most of the little bit of creative free time I have. I spent a couple days over the holidays scrapping and realized AGAIN how much I love scrapping. I re-evaluated my crafty time and decided I just need to do what I love. Give up the outside distractions and just do it!

I love this as well. I think I too have gotten bogged down by all of the unfinished projects of previous years, as well as high hopes and expectations for the new year. I am going to focus on my project life, completing my Disney mini album from last year, and getting my room organized and in a working order. That is plenty for 2019! If I do extra then yay, but if not I would still have completed enough. I am enough.

Yes, you really should do a podcast Victoria!! (Forget for a moment that the topic is not taking on too many projects 😂)
