In just a few short days, we will be welcoming December 2017…can you believe it? I look forward to this time of year as Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday! I enjoy the hustle of the season, spending time with family, decorating, eating tasty treats, and watching sapping Christmas movies. I welcome the opportunity to slow down a bit and to live in the moment.
About two years ago, I took Ali Edward’s December Daily class. One of the things I took away from her class is to set an intention, or the reason why, for your December Daily project. This year my intention is to live in the moment. To savor new experiences, listen to understand, to entertain the thought of doing absolutely nothing and to practice being still. To take in the sights and sounds of the season and to enjoy all the things that make me happy about the holidays. I want to deep dive into documenting my family traditions – the who, what, when and more importantly…the why. I want to suspend myself in my daughter’s childlike wonder.

With this in mind, the overall design of this album is going to be clean and simple, keeping the focus on documenting my stories.
My approach to December Daily is easy: Set up what Ali Edwards likes to call “foundation” pages. Foundation pages serve as a holding spot for your embellishing and journaling. While some scrapbookers completely or partially embellish their December Daily albums (nothing wrong with this), I have opted to only insert the pocket protectors, dividers, and the numbers to represent days 1 – 25. I will further embellish each page as I begin to document my stories. You can see a walk through of my album on the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel!
Now that my foundations pages are setup and I have identified my intention, I am ready to start this project. This will be my 4th December Daily album!
