A couple of week’s ago, I challenged myself to use 1 paper pad to create 10 scrapbook layouts. And to make things interesting, I constructed all 10 layouts during my Wednesday YouTube Livestream!
You read that right…ALL 10 LAYOUTS!
This all began when I was purging and organizing my scrapbook studio several months ago. During this process, I let go of several paper pads but kept a small stack (just in case). I told myself that I could keep my remaining paper pads if I used them on a big scrapbook project sometime in the near future.
Recently, while going through my scrapbook supplies, I came across the Arcadia Paper Pad by DCWV. I love the color palette of this paper pad and immediately knew that I had to use it. I also wanted to inspire other scrappers to use paper pads from their stash to create stunning scrapbook projects.
So, my 1 Paper Pad + 10 Layout Challenge was born!
My process was simple:
Deconstruct the Arcadia paper pad to create 10 scrapbook kits (3-4 pattern papers per kit).
Add embellishments from my stash to round out each kit.
Use the kits to create 10 layouts!
To see the prep process of this challenge, click HERE! I completed the entire process live on the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel.
The following week, I created all 10 layouts during my weekly livestream. In fact, it took me 3 hours to construct all 10 layouts! Not too shabby! To see the construction of all 10 layouts, click HERE!
After completing this challenge, I had a few scraps of paper left over from the Arcadia paper pad. So, I decided to make a few extra projects to include tags, cards, and more. And of course, I created all of these projects live on my YouTube Channel…click HERE to check it out!
Overall, I absolutely LOVED this entire experience – from deconstructing the Arcadia paper pad to making a bunch of layouts. But, what I love the most is that several members of our scrappy community were inspired to do this challenge as well! I love seeing all of your projects on Instagram and Facebook!
So, the questions remains…will I do this challenge again? You bet! In fact, I’m planning another challenge for October 2022 so stay tuned for more.
Meanwhile, the following are photos of all 10 layouts plus the bonus projects I created using the Arcadia paper pad. If you were inspired to create scrapbook projects based on this series, be sure to tag me on Instagram @victoriamariescraps or on Facebook!

Today on the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel, we are going to explore a super simple technique that you can do TODAY that will add a subtle touch of texture to your scrapbook layout using a basic shape, cardstock, and a distress tool!
Adding a bit of texture to a scrapbook layout doesn’t have to take away from the composition of the design. For this project, I created a circular element that features textured strips of solid white cardstock. I was going for a subtle monochromatic look with high impact texture for this design.
To begin, I trimmed two circles (7 inches and 7.5 inches) from American Crafts Textured White Cardstock and solid pink cardstock from Felicity Jane using a circle cutter. TIP: You do not need a fancy tool to create circles on your scrapbook layouts! Any circular item can be used to trace a circle for a scrapbook project – a bowl, cup, or a circular container will do the trick!
Next, I trimmed several 1×12 inch strips of solid white textured cardstock and distressed one edge of each strip with a Tim Holtz Distress Tool. Of course, you can use scissors to create distressed edges as well.
To finish this element, I layered strips of the distressed paper on the 7 inch circle and trimmed the excess paper. The 7 inch circle was then adhered to the 7.5 inch pink circle – this provided a bit of framing to the 7 inch circle and allows it to stand out a bit more on the layout. Lastly, the distressed circle element was adhered to the middle of the layout. To complete this project, I added photos, a title, journaling, and embellishing.
I absolutely LOVE how this design came out! The monochromatic color of the circular element coupled with the high impact texture from the distress strips adds a subtle bit of texture and interest to this project. I highly encourage you to give this simple and quick technique a try!

During this week’s Wednesday Livestream on the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel, I created an 8.5×11 inch scrapbook layout featuring goodies from my stash! As much as I love using new scrapbooking goodies, there are times when I want to deep dive into my scrapbook stash and challenge myself to create a layout using nothing but my older scrapbook supplies.
I am a firm believer in breathing new life into older scrapbooking products! There are some designs and color palettes that never go out of style. For example, for this project, I used pattern paper from a Becky Higgins paper collection from 2012. The colors in this collection feature grays, orange-red hues, tan, and green. I isolated the colors that worked well for my project (blue, red, and gray) and searched my embellishment stash for items with a similar color palette.
The result? A clean and simple layout composition that was fun to create and easy to replicate for future projects. And I enjoyed the added benefit of using goodies from my stash!
This layout features a story about my daughter’s love of Manga and Anime! She has recently developed a strong interest in Cosplay, dressing up as her favorite Anime characters, and hanging out with likeminded Cosplay fans. And of course, I have to scrapbook her new adventures!
I wanted to make sure that the design of this layout did not take away from the story. I also had to think of ways to stretch my stash since I do not have Anime-themed embellishments or paper (not sure if that exist). But, I was ready for the challenge!
Since I was going for a clean and simple composition, I kept the layered embellishment clusters small yet high impact by incorporating a bit of texture via a puffy stitcher label and a flat-back brad. Also, two tabs were added at the top of the layout to fill in a bit of white-space, and I created a title using two letter stickers designs for added interest and dimension.
Overall, I love the look of this 8.5×11 inch layout…clean, simple, and story-driven!
To see this project come together, click on the video below. I hope you are inspired to reach deep into your stash and to use your older scrapbook goodies to make an awesome layout!
If you are looking for scrapbook inspiration, you’ve come to the right place! Today on the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel, I’m sharing a few of my recent scrapbook projects to include 8.5×11 inch and 12×12 inch scrapbook layouts. A link to this video along with photos of each layout in this project share is provided below!
Project #1: Simply The Best Moments – 8.5×11 inch layout
This layout is a great example of a clean and simple composition. I created a grid design using two 3×4 inch pockets and two 3×4 inch photos. Next, I added a title using a stamped phrase and foam letter stickers by Thickers. To complete the layout, I adhered small embellishments to accent the pocket cards and the photos to include tabs, die cuts, and wood veneer elements.
Project #2: Grateful For This Tween – 8.5×11 inch layout
I created this layout using goodies from a recent Hip Kit Club kit. The wood veneer circle elements were cut and position to appear as though they are coming off the side of the layout. Next, I created layered clusters using die cut flowers from the kit. For an added touch, I created heat embossed velum butterflies for a bit of movement and whimsy! The black and white photos pop off the page and are balanced by the color palette of the layout.
Project #3: She Calls Me Momski – 12×12 inch layout
This layout was created in honor of Mother’s Day! Using a Hip Kit Club kit, I created a semi-grid layout using fabric pockets! Each pocket was embellished with die cut flowers, butterfly stickers, and wood veneer buttons! I love the composition of this spread!
Project #4: Art Life – 12×12 inch layout
Using my FAVORITE collection of 2022, Simple Stories Simply Vintage Lemon Twist, I created a quick and simple scrapbook layout using 6×8 pattern papers for the background. I took advantage of the graphic element featured on the pattern paper that is positioned on the left side of the layout by cutting around the black doily and positioning a 4×6 inch photo in the opening of the doily, thus creating a really fun layered look!
Project #5: Beautiful Live In the Moment – 12×12 inch layout
This project is a departure from my usual style! I love shabby chic mixed media layouts and recently had the opportunity to review a kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club. This club offers monthly kits that include fantastic materials based on shabby chic mixed media designs. Putting this layout together was so much fun and I am super excited to support an up and coming shop!
Project #6: Create – 12×12 inch layout
This layout was created to celebrate my second year on the Scrapbook and Cards Today Design Team and features a cut file and products by Paige Evans. I love using cut files, so when I saw this design, I knew it would be perfect for this project! To add a bit of interest to the title, I used Distress Oxide Ink to create a dipped effect. The ink only overs the bottom portion of the word CREATE. To complete this project, I used floral die cuts, vellum butterflies, and puffy stickers to frame the photo.
I am a sucker for grid designs, especially when I have a lot of photos that I want to use. For this layout, I’m telling the story of when my family and I moved into our new home in 2018. I kept the design simple by adding a statement cluster at the top right of the layout, supported by a smaller cluster at the bottom of the page. The pattern paper adds so much interest and warmth to the project, along with a hand stitched border.
Project #8: Cheers! Year 41 – 12×12 inch layout
In celebration of my birthday, I like to create a scrapbook layout to commemorate the occasion! Using goodies from a recent Hip Kit Club kit, I created a band of pattern paper, positioned in the center of the layout, and added a hand stitched border for interest and texture. Next, I created small clusters that flank the right and left-side of the photos using a chipboard frame, die cut flowers, and wood veneer hearts. To check out this process video for this project, click HERE!
I hope you enjoyed this fun layout share! And if you are inspired scraplift any of these featured projects, feel free to share your layout with the Victoria Marie Designs Facebook Community! Happy scrappin’!

For this project, I used items from the Paige Evans Wonders Collection and the Hip Kit Club March 2021 Embellishment Kit, along with an electronic cut file by Paige Evans called Create (available products listed below). I wanted to make a clean, bright, and whimsical layout with layered floral clusters and a delicate title.
I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut the Create electronic cut file out of American Crafts White Textured Cardstock. The letters were shaded with Distress Oxide Ink by Tim Holtz and popped up on foam squares for added dimension.
Clusters of die cut florals and accents create a frame around the 5×5 inch photo. I love how the vellum butterflies appear as though they are floating around the layout!
