My First Layout for the Hip Kit Club Design Team!

Branded

I am happy to announce that I am on the design team for the Hip Kit Club!  I have been a long time fan of this subscription kit club and I welcome the opportunity to inspire scrapbookers with my HKC projects! The products offered in the Hip Kit Club kits are amazing! Be sure to stop by the website for more details.

For this layout, I used the August 2018 Main Kit and Embellishment Kit. Every single element in this kit is absolutely stunning! To begin, I created a layered background using the Three Sides pattern paper from the Shine On Collection by Amy Tangerine (12×12 inches), the Flutter pattern paper from the Willow Lane Collection by Maggie Holmes (9×12 inches), and a piece of white Bazzill card stock (8×12 inches). Next, I added two photos (cut into circles using a circle punch) and a Maggie Holmes frame from the Willow Lane Collection.

Next, I created textured circle embellishments using modeling paste and items from the Hip Kit Club August 2018 Color Kit to include:  Shimmerz Coloringz Well Blue Me Down Mist, Inklingz Miner, Miner 49er Shimmering Watercolor and a stencil from the Pack Your Bags Collection by Carta Bella. To begin, using a scrap piece of paper, I applied modeling paste over the Pack Your Bags stencil. Once the modeling paste was dry, I covered the texture areas with the Well Blue Me Down mist and the Miner, Miner 49erwatercolor paint. Lastly, I punched circles from the textured paper and layered them around the photos and the frame.

And because I like taking things up a notch, I stitched around the photos and the textured circle embellishments with black sewing floss. Wow, so much texture…I love it!

To complete the layout, I added die cuts, chipboard embellishments, and puffy shapes from the Maggie Holmes Willow Lane and the Amy Tangerine Shine On collections. Finally, I used the Miner, Miner 49er Shimming Watercolor paint to add a few sprinkles around the layout.

I hope you are inspired to stitch and use mixed media products on your next layout! Thanks so much for stopping by! Now you go and be creative!
