My Scrapbook Studio Spring Clean Series!

Spring is almost here and that means it is time for a new season and a fresh start! During this time of the year, I spend a considerable amount of time purging, cleaning, and organizing my home, including my scrapbook studio. This week, I am featuring a new Spring Clean Series on the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel!

During this series, I am purging a TON of scrapbook and crafting materials, as well cleaning and organizing my studio. At the end of this series, I will share a full scrapbook room tour and I’ll be hosting a really fun giveaway, so stay tuned!

Be sure to head to the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel to see the first video in this series. In today’s video, I am tackling my paper stash, kits, embellishments, and other crafty materials. And throughout the week, I’ll be purging and organizing other areas of my studio to include my die cutting and printing station, stamps, tools, adhesive stash and more!

Be sure to join me all week long for spring cleaning inspiration and tips for getting your scrapbook space in tip top shape!

Let’s do this!

NEW! Scrapbook Process Video: Daily Burn 365 (I Messed Up the Title!)

Today, I’m sharing a brand new scrapbook layout called Daily Burn 365 using the Paige Evans Wonders Collection by American Crafts. To be honest, this layout took me forever and a day to complete! I blame my talent for overthinking the design process and seeking perfection. Is it my favorite layout? Nope. But, it is done and that’s all that matters!

Check it out!

Since 2016, I have subscribed to an online fitness program called Daily Burn 365. As the name suggests, subscribers can stream a new workout daily (365) that can be completed at anytime. There are a variety of workouts available to include cardio, yoga, and strength training.

Over the past year, I have decided to do the Daily Burn workouts at least 5-6 days a week as a way of managing my anxiety; a little something I discovered in 2020 (I’m not sure why, hmmm….😀).

I absolutely love this program because all of the workouts are under 30 minutes and they are designed for all skill levels. So, I decided to create a layout to document my fitness journey and how this program has helped me to stay active, right from comfort of my own home.

Now, you may have noticed something…the title on the layout says Daily Burn 356, not Daily Burn 365. Well, I flubbed and messed up the title! And I didn’t notice my error until AFTER I finished filming the process video for this layout.

Good grief!

I guess this layout will say 356 forever because I’m too lazy to change it! LOL!

I could use Un-Do Adhesive Remover to fix the title. But…I think the error gives this layout a little charm, don’t you think? 😀

Be sure to visit the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel to see this layout come together. Also, if you are a Victoria Marie Patron, you get exclusive access to the Daily Burn 365 Bonus Video, now available on the Victoria Marie Patreon site. In this video, I deep dive into the creative process behind this project.

I Finally Started December Daily 2021! Story #1: What We Love and Hate About Christmas

It’s never too late to start a holiday scrapbooking project, amiright? LOL!

Today, on the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel, I am sharing the first story in my December Daily 2021 album, What We Love and Hate About Christmas.

This year, I am taking a slightly different approach to my DD project. Instead of focusing on my everyday life activities during the month of December, I am creating an album that features a collection of stories – current, past, random musings, experiences, and everything in between, based around the holiday season. After 8 years of doing this project, I felt that I needed a different focus; something that didn’t feel daunting or stressful.

I am not sure how many stories will be included in this year’s album, but whatever that number is, it will be enough!

Supplies Used: All of the materials I am using this year are from the Ali Edwards December Daily 2021 Main Kit along with a few add-ons from this year’s collection, and my DD stash from previous years. To see a walkthrough of the supplies I’m using, check out this recorded YouTube Livestream!

My album begins with a simple semi-circle insert, accented with layered poinsettias, an orange, cork and chipboard stars, and a December Stories charm. I usually begin my DD album with a Reason Why entry, but I decided against that for this year’s project (hence, making slight changes). Instead, I jumped right into my first story.

For the first story, I wanted to focus on including the voices of my family members in this project – my mom, daughter, and spouse. I asked them to tell me what they love and hate about the holiday season. I also took everyone’s headshots and included their ages with their journaling.
On the back of the semi-circle insert, I used a felt stitched number, a gold rimmed tag, a glitter star, and black and white twine. I love how the tag, star, and twine come together to form a charm that dangles from the felt number!

The circle insert on the right side of the spread is the perfect element for my photos! For added texture, I adhered cork circles that serve as the anchor for my title. To accent the page, I created a layered row of embellishments – felt heart, chipboard circles, small metal hearts, and cork trees.
The back of the spread features the journaling and more embellishments – heart leatherette tag and a wood veneer house complete this page!

To see this spread come together, head on over to the Victoria Marie YouTube Channel. I will continue to share my December Daily project and holiday story ideas for weeks to come!

  2. Snacks and Drinks (or Dranks – if you know what I mean!)

Now, for the epitome of iNSD attire, I present to you…my pajamas! Yes friends, grab your most comfortable pajamas or lounge wear for this festive weekend of fun. Because honestly, who wants to get all doll up…not me!

As you can see, the coffee cups really amplify the whole ensemble. It’s an entire mood!

Snacks!

Next, grab your snacks! So far, I have selected a small variety of tasty treats. And I have plans to make a small charcuterie board complete with deli meats, pepperoni, cheese, crackers, fruit, and pickles! And never fear…my coffee and chocolate stash is completely stocked and ready to go!

Just look at this lovely array of goodies! And yes, that’s wine my friends…cheers!

MusicGrab My Spotify Playlists!

And last but not least…I must have music while I scrapbook this weekend! A couple of years ago, my wife Aubree made me two playlists on Spotify featuring some of my favorite songs. I have a very diverse musical palette and I love to jam while I’m in my studio making beautiful layouts!

Links to my playlists are posted below – titles created by Aubree of course! Enjoy!

Getting Ready for International Scrapbook Day and the iNSD 2021 Online Virtual Crop! Step One: Plan Your Projects!

Hello friends! Did you know that International Scrapbook Day 2021 (iNSD) is coming this weekend? If you are like me, then you are probably getting ready for an awesome weekend of scrapbooking, relaxing, and hanging out with your fellow scrappy friends!

To maximize my creative time during iNSD weekend, I like to prepare my scrapbook materials and projects in advance! This way, I can focus on making layouts and having fun.

Now, you may be wondering, “Victoria, what is your process for preparing for iNSD?”

I am so glad that you asked! I will be sharing my process all week long, starting with how to plan your scrapbook projects in preparation for iNSD weekend.

But first…

If you are looking for a fun place to hang, be sure to check out the iNSD 2021 Online Virtual Crop, hosted on the Victoria Marie Mighty Network! This event will start on Friday, April 30th – Sunday, May 2nd!

Come join us for a weekend of fun scrapbooking challenges, prizes, giveaways, LIVE Zoom Scrap and Chats and more! For more information and to register, click HERE!

iNSD Prep Tip #1: Planning Your Projects

The first step of the iNSD prep process is to plan your projects in advance. This step doesn’t have to be super involved. Simply make a list of the projects you want to work on and go from there. TIP: Be realistic about the number of projects you can actually work on during a short period of time. Overloading your project list could cause undo stress and overwhelm.

Next, be sure to note the photos you will need to print for your projects and any potential supplies and materials that you might want to use. Also jot down any design ideas or scrapbook techniques you might want to try (i.e. mixed media, layering), or tools that you want to experiment with during iNSD weekend. This step in the planning process allows you to get your ideas and plans on paper as you prepare for a weekend of scrapbooking.

If you are participating in the iNSD 2021 Online Virtual Crop with the Victoria Marie Designs community, don’t forget to review the crop Challenge Descriptions in advance of the event to plan your projects accordingly. All iNSD 2021 Online Virtual Crop registered participants get instant access to the crop Challenge Descriptions! Woo hoo!

Let’s Go!

Preparing for iNSD weekend in advance will save you so much time and hassle! So, let’s get started! Take a moment to make a list of the projects you want to work on this weekend. Your future self will thank you!

Up Next…

Tomorrow, I will share the next step in my iNSD prep process, Printing Photos and Preparing Supplies. Stay tuned for more!
